Both offer an amazing 24-hour battery life³, made possible by Extreme Battery Saver mode which offers up to 72 hours for the Pixel 8 and 100 hours for the Pixel 9 Pro^³,⁴. Both models also have fast wireless charging^⁵and Battery Share, so you can charge other devices wirelessly⁶. The Pixel 9 Pro has a 16GB RAM capacity and offers up to 1TB of storage⁷. In comparison, the Pixel 8 offers 8GB RAM capacity and storage up to 256GB⁷. If you need higher storage and faster processing power, this is something to take into consideration. Both devices have standard Google features like Google VPN at no extra cost⁸ and end-to-end security.

A key difference between the devices is the camera. The Pixel 9 Pro offers a rear triple-camera system, consisting of a 50MP wide camera, 48MP ultrawide camera, and 48MP telephoto camera lens. The Pixel 8 has a two-camera system consisting of a 50MP wide and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The 9 Pro also offers up to 8K video recording and a 42MP front camera for great selfies. The 8 offers up to 4K video recording and a 10.5MP selfie camera. The Pixel 9 Pro has extra AI features like Add Me⁹, which allows you to add the photographer into your picture, so nobody is missing. Plus, it has the new Pixel Studio app¹⁰ - so you can create images through written prompts.

To conclude, both devices are great options. The Pixel 9 Pro leads the way with an advanced camera system paired with AI features - which would be beneficial for an aspiring photographer. However, the Pixel 8 has a comparable battery life and plenty of great Google features.
