Switching your broadband takes the same length of time as taking out a new contract. On your installation date, the switching process will be complete.
You don't need to cancel your broadband with your previous provider unless you're with Virgin Media or a smaller provider like Hyperoptic, Community Fibre, or Gigaclear. If your contract hasn’t ended yet, you may be charged for leaving early. Your contract with your previous provider will be cancelled on your installation day
You can switch at any time. However, if you’re in a fixed contract, you may incur exit fees for leaving early.
When you switch broadband, a request is sent to your current provider. Your previous contract should come to an end on the day your broadband is activated or installed.

Switching broadband providers doesn't cost anything. However, you may be charged by your previous broadband provider if your contract hasn't come to an end. It's best to check your current contract length if you're looking to switch. Contract lengths are usually 12 or 24 months long.
You won’t lose internet during the switch, the internet you're provided with by your current provider will only be switched off when we install your new connection.
