How does Speed Boost work?
Speed Boost gives your mobile data higher priority when the network is busy. This means when lots of people are trying to use data at the same time, for example in stadiums and train stations, you'll get the fastest speeds available.
What affects how it works
Performance depends on coverage, movement, weather, radio interference and physical obstructions such as buildings or trains.
It will work in areas with low signal coverage, but you'll get the most benefit when there are lots of people trying to use the network at the same time.
If you have a speed-capped plan including Unlimited (up to 10 Mbps) or Unlimited Plus (up to 100 Mbps), then Speed Boost will give you the fastest speeds available up to these limits.
How you get it
You need:
a Speed Boost Pay monthly plan or Extra
a 5G device
to connect to the 4G, 5G or 5G Ultra mobile network
to be in the UK — you can’t use it abroad
Find plans with Speed Boost or add a Speed Boost Extra
How much prioritised data you get
If you've got Speed Boost included with your plan, you'll be prioritised up to 200GB.
With a Speed Boost Pay monthly Extra, you'll get:
10GB for 1 day
50GB for 7 days
200GB for 30 days
How to switch it on and off
When you get a Speed Boost plan or Extra, it's automatically switched on and stays on all the time. You can check this in the My Vodafone app by looking for the Speed Boost active label in the Usage tab.
