Vodafone IOU

Vodafone IOU

Getting started

There's just a few things to check before you can use Vodafone IOU:

  • You've been a Vodafone Pay as you go customer for at least seven days
  • You've topped up at least £5 so far
  • You're 18 or over

Now that you're ready, you simply need to opt in. You won't need to do this again unless you decide to opt out.

How it works

Once you've opted in, we'll add £3 IOU credit to your balance and send you a text to let you know. You'll only be able to get one IOU credit between each top up.

You can use some or all of the £3 IOU credit every time your balance reaches £0.00.

The next time you top up, the amount of IOU credit you've used and a 45p service charge will be deducted. The service charge will only be taken if you've used any of the IOU credit.

For example, if you've used £1 of your IOU credit, £1.45 will come off your next top up.

Once you've paid your IOU back, you'll need to opt back in to use it again.

The 45p service charge is a fixed charge for using the IOU service.

Please note, you'll need to top up within three months of using your Vodafone IOU credit.

If you don't top up within three months of using your Vodafone IOU credit, we may suspend your use of Vodafone IOU and/or suspend or disconnect your Pay as you go account, in accordance with our terms and conditions.

You can also use your IOU credit when travelling abroad, but our international charges will apply.

How to opt out of Vodafone IOU

You'll be opted out of IOU each time you pay the IOU back.

If you want to take Vodafone IOU off your account, just text REMOVE to 468. It'll then be taken off when you next top up. Any used IOU credit and service charges will be taken off your balance.

If you request to move your number to another provider you'll have to opt out of Vodafone IOU. You may have to top up before a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) can be generated, if you have a negative balance; this is to cover the IOU credit used and service charge.

Vodafone IOU is for your personal, non-commercial use and is not for re-sale or transfer. We won't be legally responsible to you if the Vodafone IOU service can't be activated for any reason.

Your use of IOU is subject to our Pay as you go airtime conditions. These may change, but if it's to your disadvantage we'll let you know.

By using the Vodafone IOU service you agree you've read and accepted these terms and conditions.
