Have the freedom to check your emails and use maps on selected apps without using your data when you’re travelling on business across the UK and our Europe Zones.
With the Email and Maps Pass* from Vodafone, you can stay connected while on the go without using any of your data allowance. Check your emails on Yahoo, Gmail, Microsoft Outlook or Hotmail apps, and plan your journeys using Apple, Waze or Google Maps apps.
The following activities aren’t covered by the Email and Maps Pass and will use your monthly data allowance:
Accessing emails and maps through a browser
Viewing content, including videos, from links that take you to another app or website that isn’t included in the Email and Maps Pass. If you click on a link that takes you out of an app that’s included in your inclusive Pass (such as Google Calendar through the Gmail app), data used within that second app will come out of your monthly data allowance.
For example, if you click on a link in an email in your Gmail account, and the link takes you out of the Gmail app and to another website, then the data for accessing that website will be taken out of your monthly allowance
Please note: some apps display adverts which will use your monthly data allowance. Extensions or third party content such as location sharing or tracking, downloading and sending GIFs, sharing shopping links, the sticker market, external videos or maps and any app analytics may also come out of your monthly data allowance.
You can’t use your Email and Maps Pass in our World Zone or Rest of World destinations. To see how much it costs to use data in these destinations, see our Roaming page
A €50 data spend cap is applied to all roaming data services. If you hit this cap while using your phone abroad, all data usage – including any Email and Maps Pass usage – will be suspended until the spend cap is lifted at your request.
Please note: as some app content may differ while roaming due to licensing agreements, you should check what’s covered in each app on your Pass to see what’s available in the country you’re visiting.
Do I have access to the premium subscription services of the apps included in the Email and Maps Pass?
No – you’ll need to set up any premium subscriptions – such as Office 365 – separately and directly.
How do I add or remove the Email and Maps Pass?
When you call the helpline, you’ll speak to a team member who will request details about your query, in order to direct you to the most appropriate lawyer for your query.
If a lawyer is available, you’ll be transferred right away. If a lawyer isn’t available or if you would prefer to meet them face to face, we’ll arrange a convenient time for them to call you back or for you to meet them at their office.
You can also register an enquiry through the Business Support online portal and we’ll reply to your query within one hour during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm). If the request is received outside of business hours, we’ll reply on the next working day.
Can I still use my Email and Maps Pass if I’ve run out of my monthly data allowance?
If you’re able to, back your phone up so you can transfer your data to the replacement device.
If you have an iPhone and have damaged it, turn off ‘Find my Phone’ before handing it over.
If your phone has been stolen, you’ll need to provide a crime reference number. To get this, report your phone as stolen at your local police station or call 101.
How can I tell how much data I’ve used with my Email and Maps Pass?
You can track your inclusive data allowance and see the amount of data you’ve used in your Email and Maps Pass by logging into your My Vodafone account or the My Vodafone App
