iPhone X vs iPhone 6s Plus

Which one is best for you?

iPhone 6s Plus was the talk of the tech world when it was released in September 2015 – but how does it stand up to the new premium iPhone X?

The first thing you’ll notice about iPhone X is that it’s had an image change. A thinner, more flexible screen curves round the sides to meet the smooth glass back. The home button has been removed and replaced by a bar that’s incorporated into the screen. It’s slightly smaller than iPhone 6s Plus – but thanks to these design changes actually has a larger screen – 5.8 inches’ vs 5.5 inches – so your videos and images will look even better.

There’s a new section at the top to accommodate the front facing camera and 3D sensors, too. These allow much better facial recognition – so you can unlock iPhone X just by looking into the screen. They’ll also help you take better selfies, and even create ‘animojis’, where your expression is mapped onto personalised 3D emojis.

iPhone X also features Apples new A11 chip – which is faster and more efficient than the A10. It even boasts machine learning, so Face ID can adapt to changes in your appearance over time. And, as well as the new screen technology and 3D face recognition, iPhone X, pushes ahead with little details such as optical image stabilisation in both of the rear-facing lenses for clearer action pictures and videos.

So ultimately, iPhone X wins out in pretty much every metric. It is smaller, but with a bigger screen, more features, faster chip – and even supports wireless charging. iPhone 6s Plus is still a very desirable smartphone. But if you absolutely must have the best iPhone in the room – iPhone X is the one.
