iPhone X vs iPhone 7

Which one is best for you?

While iPhone 7 was very similar in appearance to iPhone 6s, Apple’s new premium model, iPhone X, is instantly recognisable as a newer model. If you want your friends (or fellow commuters) to see you with the latest must-have gadget, iPhone X won’t disappoint.

For starters iPhone X has dropped the home button in favour of a home bar incorporated into the screen. At the top of the screen, there’s a small section for the front-facing 3D sensors which does take up a little screen space. Thanks to a change in technology, it has thinner lighter screen that takes up the whole front of the phone and features curved edges, too.

But there’s more to the iPhone X than appearances. The new 3D sensors make face recognition more accurate, so you can instantly unlock your phone just by looking into the camera. They’ll also help you create stunning selfies, and even create ‘animojis’, where your expression is mapped onto personalised 3D emojis.

It’s new six-core A11 chip is faster than and more efficient than the A10 – so you get smoother performance and an extra two hours between charges. It even boasts machine learning, so Face ID can adapt to changes in your appearance over time.

iPhone X has an improved rear-facing camera, too, with optical image stabilisation in both of the rear-facing lenses for clearer action pictures and videos.

iPhone 7 certainly still has plenty going for it. It’s a top-spec device, and some will prefer the classic design. It’s back-lit screen, though less efficient than the new iPhone X screen, is also better in strong sunlight. But if you want the latest, fastest and most feature packed phone – iPhone X is the clear winner.
