iPhone XR vs iPhone 8 Plus

Which one is best for you?

Building on the success of its previous plus-size models, Apple’s hefty 2017 offering came with fast and wireless charging, thanks to its new glass construction. The dual-lens camera was augmented with the nifty new Portrait Lighting mode which alters the lighting and depth-of-field of your selfies and portrait shots.

But 2018’s release has really built on these capabilities, and iPhone XR represents a serious leap forward in terms of both features and performance from iPhone 8 Plus. For one thing, Apple’s advances in screen technology have delivered a 6.1-inch LCD screen in a body that is smaller than the one housing iPhone 8 Plus’s 5.5-inch display.

The photography bells and whistles have been upgraded too, with the powerful A12 Bionic chip running smart processing tools such as Depth Control and Smart HD, and cementing Apple’s place as a serious player in the phone camera stakes.

Those nostalgic for the old iPhone design, with bezels and a home button, may still be tempted by iPhone 8 Plus, but iPhone XR surpasses it in pretty much every way.
