iPhone XR vs iPhone XS Max

Which one is best for you?

Released in 2018, iPhone XR and iPhone XS Max are both packed with Apple’s latest innovations, but represent quite different propositions.

iPhone XS Max is Apple’s most premium phone, boasting a gorgeous 6.5-inch OLED screen, up to half a terabyte of storage, and constructed in beautiful yet durable glass. The 12-megapixel dual-lens camera takes stunning pictures you can tinker with later using clever post-processing tools like DepthControl, which adapts the ‘bokeh’, or background blur, to produce portraits like a pro.

iPhone XR carries much of the same functionality as iPhone XS Max, running on the same powerful A12 Bionic chip, and offering the same clever camera tools, through a single-lens rear snapper. The aluminium casing comes in six colours and while its 6.1-inch screen is an LCD display with less resolution than iPhone XS Max’s OLED screen, Apple have introduced advanced LCD technology to stretch the screen to the edges of the phone.

While both are superb phones and show Apple at the top of their game, iPhone XS Max is a more impressive offering, as its price suggests. If you want a great iPhone in a more affordable package, iPhone XR might be the one for you.
