Galaxy S8 Plus vs Galaxy S7

Which one is best for you?

If you’re looking to choose between the Galaxy S8+ and the Galaxy S7, the most obvious difference to note is screen size. The S8+ has a generous 6.2-inch screen compared to just 5.1 inches for the S7. But the S8+ is, naturally, bigger in overall size, too, so if you want something that’ll fit easily in your pocket, the S7 might be a better choice.

The S8+ is a generation on from the S7, too, so as you’d expect, it has some cool new features and upgrades. For starters, it has 64GB internal memory, up from 32GB on the S7, so there’s more room to save your favourite music and videos. What’s more, both accept microSD memory cards if you want to increase capacity.

The S8+ also has an improved main camera. While both have 12-megapixel cameras, the S8+ has a multi-capture feature that takes three images when you shoot and saves the clearest one – reducing blur. The front-facing camera has also been upgraded from 5 to 8 megapixels and now has auto-focus, so your selfies will be sharper, too.

As well as offering a much bigger screen experience, the S8+ has new features like iris recognition for quick and secure unlocking and the Bixby personal assistant – showing a significant step ahead in technology. That’s not to say that the S7 isn’t still a great phone – and a good choice if you want something to fit in your pocket. But on screen size and usability, the S8+ is the winner here.
