Mobile Broadband Coverage
On the train, in the garden or away on business. Wherever you want to use Mobile Broadband, you can check our coverage maps for the UK and abroad.
We’ve already got 80% of the UK population covered – and we’re working hard to provide mobile broadband coverage across the rest of country.
We offer two types of Mobile Broadband – one that connects to the internet at speeds up to 1.8Mbps, and one with superfast connection speeds up to 7.2Mbps, though top speeds can vary significantly.*
Our comparison table shows how long it takes to download files at speeds up to 1.8Mbps and 7.2Mbps.

We’re busy improving our network so that everyone in the UK can access our superfast Mobile Broadband service. So far we’ve got all the major UK airports covered, along with a lot of London postcodes. And it won’t be long before another 3 million people in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Reading will have superfast access too.
It’s official. Vodafone’s mobile broadband network is significantly faster and more reliable than other operators when downloads files or web pages. That’s the verdict of an independent study by LCC, the largest independent wireless engineering company in the world (June 2008).
In the study, LCC analysts compared how long it takes to download files and open web pages using mobile broadband in the UK.
- Up to 10 seconds quicker to download a 2MB file
- Up to four times faster to open up a web page
3G
If you're using a 3G handset you can access 3G services, such as mobile TV and video calling or high speed mobile internet. Vodafone’s 3G coverage covers 80% of the UK population.
Standard Services
Our extensive 2G network covers 99.7% of the population - allowing you to make and receive calls, send text and picture messages and access mobile email across the UK.
