Roaming charges and using your mobile abroad

How much does it cost to use my device abroad?

It's easy to find out how much you'll be charged to use your phone, tablet, dongle or mobile Wi-Fi device when you're abroad. Simply choose the country you'll be visiting, then answer a few quick questions to find out what you'll be charged in your chosen destination.

Our Pay monthly plans (excluding Basics plans) now include Vodafone Global Roaming. So regardless of when you joined us, you can take your home plan of data, minutes and texts to 152 destinations worldwide. If you’re a Pay as you go customer, you can use your phone like you do at home in any of the 48 destinations in our Pay as you go Europe Zone.

Business customers on Pay monthly plans who joined us before 5 August 2017 will be subject to the following roaming rates, unless we’ve contacted you to state otherwise.

If your service is provided through one of our VPS partners, please contact your Partner who can confirm the roaming rates for your destination.

Please note: Roaming is unavailable on all Vodafone Basics SIMs as standard.

Before you travel and when you arrive

Before you go abroad, and once you arrive, there are some important things you’ll need to know.

Before you leave home, we recommend that you:

  • Check that your phone isn’t barred for use abroad using the My Vodafone app or My Vodafone online
  • Check if you have one of the latest plans with Vodafone Global Roaming
  • Enable data roaming on your phone
  • Set up PINs for your phone and SIM. If they’re stolen, this will restrict access to your device
  • If you want to use voicemail when roaming, you'll need to set up a security PIN before leaving the UK. Otherwise you won't be able to access your voicemail while abroad.

Make a note of our Lost and Stolen 24-hour helpline +44 7836 191 191 – free from any Vodafone phone even when you’re abroad (international call charges apply from any other mobile or landline). And if your device is lost or stolen, you can then let us know immediately.
