First, you'll need an Apple Watch Series 3 or newer and iPhone 6s or newer on a Vodafone Pay monthly plan. Unsure if your plan can be paired with an Apple Watch? Use our eligibility checker to find out.
Pair your devices
Use Bluetooth to pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone, so you can sync and manage apps across both devices when in range. Need help pairing your devices?
Add smartwatch connectivity
Get a Connectivity Plan for just £7.50 a month. To get set up, go to the Watch App on your iPhone, select Mobile Data and follow the instructions.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between OneNumber and a Connectivity Plan?
A Connectivity Plan is also known as OneNumber – it provides exactly the same service as a Connectivity Plan, but just has a different name, which is recognised by existing customers.
OneNumber/a Connectivity Plan connects your smartwatch to our network. It also lets you share your phone’s allowances, number and contacts with your smartwatch. So you can use data, minutes and texts, even when you’re away from your phone or WiFi.
What’s the difference between a GPS only Apple Watch and one with GPS and Cellular?
An Apple Watch with GPS and Cellular lets you use your Apple Watch independently without needing to have your iPhone with you. For example, you could go for a walk or a run without your iPhone and still make calls and text friends (as long as you have an active data plan).
An Apple Watch with only GPS connectivity lets you do all the same things as cellular, but you’ll need to have your iPhone near you and be connected to make calls or texts. If you leave your home without your phone, your Apple Watch will only work via GPS. So, it could track your run, but you can’t use it to call or text.
Does Apple Watch work with Android?
No. It is not possible to pair an Apple Watch with an Android device. To activate an Apple Watch, an Apple iPhone is required.
Can you make phone calls on Apple Watch?
Yes, you can make phone calls on an Apple Watch. Your Apple Watch has the same telephone app as your iPhone, allowing you to dial a number or choose a contact to ring. You can also answer or decline a call from your Apple Watch.
Once you’ve answered the call, you can choose to speak through your Apple Watch, your iPhone, or your AirPods if you have them connected.
Can you change Apple Watch straps?
Yes, you can change your Apple Watch strap. Your Apple Watch will come with a strap, but you can change it as often as you like. There are different types of Apple Watch straps that you can find online.
Can you get WhatsApp on Apple Watch?
Yes, you can get WhatsApp on Apple Watch, but its capabilities are limited. You can read and reply to text messages, but you cannot use the app to call someone. However, you will get notifications about incoming WhatsApp calls - but you’ll only be able to decline them, rather than answer the call.
Can you use Apple Pay on Apple Watch?
Yes, you can use Apple Pay on Apple Watch. Like your iPhone, you can use Apple Pay on your watch to pay for things (even if you don’t have an internet connection). To use it, double click the side button, choose a card, and place it near the contactless card reader.
Can you swim with Apple Watch?
Yes, if you have an Apple Watch (Series 2 or newer) you can use it for swimming.
The Ultra 4 is most advanced with water resistance up to 100 metres and a depth gauge of 40 metres. The Series 12 is resistant to 50 metres and has a depth gauge of up to 6 metres. The SE 3 also offers water resistance up to 50 metres but without a depth gauge.
What is Walkie-Talkie on Apple Watch?
The Walkie-Talkie feature on Apple Watch lets you talk to friends in real-time, through your Apple Watch. Like a walkie-talkie, your friend will instantly hear your voice when you speak through your watch.
For Walkie-Talkie to work, you’ll need an Apple Watch and IOS 12.4 or later on your iPhone.
