Streaming a game is just like streaming a video on YouTube or Netflix – you don’t download the game, so you keep your storage space and don’t need to make any updates. Instead, you connect to the cloud and use your mobile data or Wi-Fi to play.

Traditional gaming involves downloading and storing games to your phone.

With game streaming you don’t need to wait for a game to download because the game is stored on a server in the cloud. You then access the game you want to play through a game streaming app that you download to your phone, like Hatch.

You then stream your game using your mobile data or Wi-Fi, and everything happens on the server instead of your device.

When this happens, you’ll be able to see the game as if it was downloaded to your device – with the added benefit of saving space.

Because game streaming services like Hatch are designed to work on super speedy networks like 5G, the games you stream should respond in real time with low latency.

Hatch will work on both 5G and 4G – but it’s designed to work best with 5G’s speed and low latency (the delay between data being sent and received). Streaming a game requires lower latency because it’s responding to your inputs in real time. Find out more about the benefits of 5G.

Hatch will still work well on 4G, but you might experience a slight delay between pressing a command and the action response.

You’ll need to have an Android device and download Hatch from Google Play to play.

If you want to play Hatch Premium for free for three months, you’ll need to be an existing or new Vodafone customer with a 5G or 4G smartphone.

You can then visit the My Vodafone app and open up VeryMe Rewards to claim your Hatch gaming offer.

Once you’ve verified the link, you’ll be able to login to the Hatch app and take your pick of adventure games, card games, interactive games, action puzzles and more.
