Gorilla Glass
What is Gorilla Glass and Gorilla Glass Victus+?
Gorilla® Glass is a brand of chemically-strengthened glass, designed to be thin, light and resistant to scratches and drops. It’s made by an American company called Corning.
Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus+® is the next generation of Gorilla Glass, and it's widely marketed as the toughest Gorilla Glass yet. In Corning’s lab tests, Gorilla Glass Victus+ survived drops onto hard, rough surfaces from up to 2m, and the scratch resistance is up to 4x better than competitive aluminosilicate.
How is Gorilla Glass made?
Gorilla® Glass is made by toughening normal glass by ion exchange - larger ions occupy more volume and create a strong, flexible top layer on the glass. This gives it increased strength and crack-resistance.
